Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening

by Robert Frost (1923)

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

"Stepping inside, one can't help but feel the grace and soul of the Little White Church. The space within, the piano, the light through the wavy panes of glass, the shadow across the white walls, seem to silently remember, and whisper all the joys, as well as sorrows, all the singing, and playing and music making-the sharing of life happening, here through the years. It is a place that invites a vibrant kind of resting, a space where one can be at home."
Dana Cunningham composer-pianist

The Little White Church is a non-denominational, non-profit organization governed by a board of local volunteer trustees. The donations received from church functions, weddings, religious and community events go for the maintenance, insurance and continuing restoration of the Little White Church.
